Privacy Policy

Mile Supply ("we," "us") builds personalized running-gear recommendations. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what control you have over it. Mile Supply is currently in a pre-pilot stage — this policy will be revised as the product grows.

Information we collect

Runner profile and intake answers. When you build a runner profile, we collect what you tell us across up to 12 sections: your running routine (mileage, terrain, goals), current shoes and wear patterns, apparel preferences and sizing (including sports bra band/cup size where applicable), fuel and hydration habits, sock and foot-care preferences, gear you carry, injury and medical-consideration history, a preferred running store, ZIP code, and brand/budget preferences. Injury, body, and similar physical information is used only to generate and explain gear recommendations — never to diagnose, treat, or predict a medical condition.

Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password (we never store your password in plain text). You can also sign in with a one-time magic link sent to your email instead of a password. An account is optional — the intake and recommendation engine work without one.

Usage and analytics data. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site — pages viewed, general device/browser information, and approximate location derived from IP address. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and is a separate data controller for the data it processes; see Google's Privacy Policy for how it handles that data. We also record product-level interaction events (e.g. viewing an explanation, saving or dismissing a recommendation) tied to your runner profile, so we can improve the recommendations themselves.

Session cookies. We set essential, first-party cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your in-progress runner profile between visits. These are not used for advertising and are not sold or shared with any third party.

How we use your information

We use what you tell us to generate personalized, explainable gear recommendations; to operate your account and runner profile; to understand and improve how the site and recommendations perform; and to communicate with you about your account (e.g. verifying your email, password resets). If you opted in to a preferred store and consented to sharing your profile with it, we share the relevant profile information with that store — no one else.

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your runner profile with retailers, advertisers, or data brokers. We do not currently run any advertising or affiliate program, so no data is shared for those purposes today. Product links we show you point to the manufacturer or another primary source, not an affiliate or commerce partner.

Your rights and choices

You can download a full export of everything we hold about you from your results page at any time. To request correction or deletion of your data, email us at [email protected]. Deletion requests are honored by first deactivating your account, followed by permanent removal of your data.

Data retention and security

We retain your data for as long as your account is active, or until you request deletion. Backups are encrypted. Access to production systems and the admin console is restricted and requires two-factor authentication.

Children's privacy

Mile Supply is intended for users 16 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.

Changes to this policy

We'll update the effective date above whenever this policy changes, and post material changes here before they take effect.
